Kyrie Irving Shines, Luka Doncic Muted in 2023 NBA All-Star Game
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving made history on Sunday, becoming the first Dallas Mavericks duo to be starters in an NBA All-Star Game since 2010. They were both selected by notable fan LeBron James to be part of Team LeBron, but the team lost despite their presence. Irving had a great night, tallying 32 points, 15 assists, and seven rebounds in 29 minutes of play, while Doncic was quieter, with four points and five assists in the game.

The All-Star Game certainly lived up to the hype, despite Giannis Antetokounmpo getting limited minutes and LeBron James suffering an unfortunate finger injury that ruled him out of the second half. To provide a look at the performance of one of the Mavs brilliant duos, here are some of the highlights from the evening.
Team Giannis scored a decisive victory in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, leading from start to finish after the first quarter was tied. They won the second and third periods and were the first team to reach the target score of 182, handing Team LeBron their fifth loss under this format and Luka Doncic his first defeat in four All-Star trips.
Doncic, the league's leading scorer, had a fairly uneventful game, but managed to get on the board with a spectacular dunk. With the help of a mic, the Slovenian cracked a joke after throwing it down.
On Feb. 19, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic put on a show during the All-Star Game, as Irving scored 32 points on 14 of 21 shooting and Doncic displayed his handle and shot. This marked Irving's fourth time with 20-plus points in eight All-Star appearances.
With the post-All-Star break beginning for Dallas Mavericks, the team hopes to make another playoff run. To help accomplish this, Irving and Doncic need to maximize each other's talents and become an unstoppable duo. The Mavericks will get six consecutive home games to put this plan into action, and it will be interesting to see how the two stars mesh.
