Cristiano Ronaldo's first match with Al Nassr concluded with a 1-0 victory against Ettifaq FC at Mrsool Park, despite his failure to score. Anderson Talisca's header in the first half allowed Al Nassr to move up to the top of the Saudi Pro League, with one point more than their rivals, Al Hilal in Riyadh.

Cristiano Ronaldo made his much-anticipated debut for Al Nassr on Thursday night, captaining the side in a match against Paris Saint-Germain. The 37-year-old had previously served a two-match suspension handed down by the English FA for an incident during his time with Manchester United.

Ronaldo's move to Al Nassr followed the termination of his contract with United in December, with the two-and-a-half-year deal reported to be worth $200 million per year.

The former Real Madrid star failed to register a shot on target in his domstitic debut, but had impressed when scoring twice for a Saudi select team in a friendly against PSG earlier in the week.

Cristiano Ronaldo had an opportunity for greatness early on in the game with a free-kick that sailed just over the crossbar, however it was a largely quiet night for the famous Portugal striker. Talisca, the scorer, expressed gratitude to have Ronaldo on the team, noting that his persona aids his ability to blend in with the squad.

Al Nassr have achieved their goal of returning to the top, according to manager Nasser Al Johar. "We needed to win these kinds of games and fight if we wanted to win the title," he said. "I want to congratulate the players on reaching our goal."

The team will continue their push for success in the upcoming Saudi Super Cup against Al Ittihad on Thursday.
