Manchester City 4-2 Tottenham Hotpur

Riyad Mahrez was the shining star of the match as City seemed to be on the brink of a comfortable victory before the break. Mahrez scored two goals and assisted in two others, in a show-stopping performance which had spectators in awe. 



City began the match in a completely dominant fashion, only to concede two late first-half goals, resulting in their own fans booing them off the pitch at half-time. Despite the disappointment,

Mahrez was the man of the match and rightly so. His two goals and two assists were the key to City's attack, as they looked to turn the game around.

Spurs showed glimpses of excellence, but not enough to be in contention for the top spots. Arsenal are being pursued in the league standings however Tottenham are gradually dropping away from the top four.

It was a match of contrasting halves, with the Conte side persevering through the game and performing acceptably, but Guardiola's tactics resulting in a remarkable second-half fightback.

The Premier League table is becoming increasingly uncomfortable for Arsenal, with Man City now just five points away from them. This is good news for Pep Guardiola and his desire to challenge for the title.

In contrast, Spurs are in danger of losing out on fourth place and the Champions League berth that goes with it, with Newcastle looking increasingly likely to jump ahead of them.
