Erik ten Hag's Manchester United looked impressive once more on Tuesday, as they defeated Bournemouth 3-0 at Old Trafford. Casemiro opened the scoring for Man United before halftime, and Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford then sealed the win with second-half goals. This result widened the gap between United and fifth-placed Tottenham to five points, helping to solidify the Red Devils' position as a real top-four challenger.

Left-back Shaw was the star performer in the match, securing the goal and setting up multiple other opportunities for his teammates throughout the 90 minutes. Casemiro also shone, offering necessary protection to the back four and netting his crucial opener.

The only negative for United was Donny van de Beek's injury prior to the break. Nevertheless, Alejandro Garnacho was tremendous after coming on, and could be in line for more starts in the future.

Bournemouth were given a harsh lesson in football as they were comprehensively outplayed in their clash against Burnley. The score stayed at 1-0 throughout the match, with Burnley emerging victorious.

This result sees Burnley rise to 11th in the standings, now on the same points as 10th placed Newcastle United.

At the other end of the table, Bournemouth remain in 15th place, just two points above the relegation zone, though those teams behind them all hold a game in hand. Bournemouth were unable to deal with Burnley's attack, particularly when it came to defending set pieces, and were seen lacking in transition as well.

The manifest evidence of a truly top-notch side was shown at Old Trafford as Manchester United welcomed Bournemouth and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made plenty of alterations to his lineup. These changes did not perturb the team's performance, with Ten Hag seamlessly integrating the substitutes into the side, displaying the squad's strength in depth.

Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof filled the positions of centre-back in place of World Cup participants Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, and encountered few issues as Bournemouth advanced. Aaron Wan-Bissaka's run in the first team may be coming to an end with the return of Diogo Dalot from injury, though he has made an impact in the meantime.

Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial put in underwhelming performances against Bournemouth, both then being forced off due to injury, yet the overall display of the team didn't take a hit. This is a very positive indication that the recent form of Manchester United under Ten Hag is sustainable.

Manchester United put on a fantastic display today, as they notched up three fantastic goals and created countless chances. One of the standout performers was left-back Luke Shaw, who returned to his best after a difficult few weeks. He was a real threat going forward, and his crosses and overall play were a delight to witness.

At the root of numerous standout episodes was left-back Luke Shaw, who is coming on strong for club and country. It was not long ago that the 27-year-old had difficulty staying in peak condition and failed to deliver in his brief time on the pitch, regularly becoming a target for fans and press who were looking for a person to blame for Manchester United's more extensive issues.

Luke Shaw was the star of the show for Manchester United in their latest win, and his Man of the Match performance was evidence of that. The left-back opened the scoring after starting and finishing a wonderful move. His pinpoint pass to Bruno Fernandes was a key factor in Marcus Rashford's goal as well.

Shaw's individual stats were impressive too, as he completed 83/95 passes, created two chances, attempted one successful dribble, cleared the ball three times, recovered the ball 12 times, and was successful in 3/6 of his ground duels. All in all, it was a tremendous 90 minutes for the Englishman.

Despite suffering a three-match losing streak, Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil's side was outmatched by Manchester United's strong performance in the game. As such, it is a good opportunity to acknowledge the opponent's excellence rather than focusing on the flaws of Bournemouth's side.

Bournemouth failed to find the back of the net during this game, but were unlucky not to do so. Though the team had a few chances, their finishing was not optimal and United custodian David de Gea made some great saves.

The Cherries still have plenty of work to do, particularly in terms of defending and attacking set pieces, but if they can recover from this dip in form and players get fit, they should have enough quality to remain secure in the Premier League next season.
