Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Assaulted at Fitness Center in Florida
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is also known by his real name Daniel Hernandez, was taken to hospital after being assaulted by a gang of individuals at a gym in the South of Florida. This news has been confirmed by Variety.
Lance Lazzaro, the artist's lawyer, declared that Hernandez sustained injuries to his face as well as bruises due to the attack which occurred both in and outside the sauna of the particular LA Fitness. The assailants were said to be three or four men, though apparently the rapper put up a fight. Lazzaro added that the gang ran off after gym employees were alerted to the situation.
Police in South Florida were called, and Hernandez was taken away by ambulance to a nearby hospital, according to Lazzaro. It is not known currently if the rapper is still in the hospital.
Lazzaro said he is attempting to get some form of protection for Hernandez, since he was freed from federal prison in April of last year. Hernandez had been arrested and sentenced to two years in prison in 2019 stemming from nine charges, such as racketeering, drug trafficking and firearm offenses, linked to his ties with the Nine Trey Bloods gang. The rapper received a reduced conviction after he cooperated with federal authorities to send his colleagues to prison. He was discharged ahead of time due to COVID-19 worries, after being labeled a "model prisoner" by a judge.
A video leaked on Twitter has revealed the assailants of Yaisel Hernandez boasting that they will become famous after the incident. In the video, one of the assailants says “Take a picture. I’m gonna be famous now”. Another clip captured Hernandez walking out of the location drenched in blood.
Reports have suggested that Hernandez was kicked out of a baseball stadium in Miami for being intoxicated and causing disruption to the fans on Friday.
