Kelsea Ballerini Premieres New Music and Short Film

Kelsea Ballerini has a special treat for her fans on Valentine's Day. At the stroke of midnight on the 14th, the singer released a surprise album containing six new songs, along with a short film titled “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (A Short Film).” All of the songs on the album were either written or co-written by Ballerini. She also wrote and directed the short film together with co-director Patrick Tracy.


Kelsea Ballerini has released new work that may hint at why her marriage to fellow country singer Morgan Evans ended last year.

In an Instagram post, in which she declared her proudness of her art and love for her fans, Ballerini stated, “Here’s my healing journey. Here’s my heart. Here’s my truth.

I’ve never been this open, I’ve never been this bold, and I’ve never been this proud of my art. So, with love and respect, I’m rolling up the welcome mat. Six song story and short film out now. Happy Valentine’s Day.” 

This Valentine’s Day release provides a glimpse into the personal journey Ballerini has been on since her marriage ended.
