Actress Annie Wersching died from cancer on Sunday morning, her publicist Craig Schneider informed Newsparty. She was 45.
The late star was widely recognized for portraying FBI agent Renee Walker in the series, “24”.
In a statement released to Newsparty, Annie's husband Stephen Full expressed his grief.

Annie Wersching, an actress who appeared in the TV series such as “24,” “Vampire Diaries,” and “Rizzoli & Isles,” passed away on Monday. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed. She was 44.

Her brother, Jason, took to Twitter to pay tribute to her. “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall,” he wrote.

Wersching was also the voice of Tess in the video game “The Last of Us.” Neil Druckmann, the creative director of the upcoming HBO Max series based on the same game, expressed his grief on Twitter, writing, “Just found out my dear friend, Annie Wersching, passed away. We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”

Ever Carradine, an actress from "The Handmaid's Tale", started a GoFundMe to help the family of Annie Wersching, a prolific television actress. The fundraiser was created to ensure Annie's husband and children are able to live a comfortable life that she would have been proud of.

Wersching had a long and successful career as a TV star. She made her debut in 2007, playing Amelia Joffe on the renowned ABC show "General Hospital", before going on to become a series regular playing FBI Agent Renee Walker on Fox’s “24” for seasons seven and eight.

Actress Sonya Wersching, who is known for her roles across television and film, has passed away, aged 44. Wersching was best known for her role as Special Agent Renee Walker on Fox’s “24”, and was set to portray the Borg Queen in “Star Trek Picard” in 2022.

Some of Wersching’s other TV credits included her role as Harry Bosch’s love interest on Amazon Prime’s 2014 series “Bosch” and a recurring role as the villainous vampire Lily Salvatore on the CW’s “The Vampire Diaries”. Her final professional credits were listed on IMDb as the Borg Queen in “Star Trek Picard”, and throughout filming the actress often shared photos of herself from set in full costume.

The tribute paid to Wersching by her family and colleagues serves as a testament to her immense talent and the impact she had on those around her.

On Sunday, husband of the late Lynn Wersching, shared a special memory of her in honour of her passing.

Writing on social media, he expressed that while they had been married only a short while, they had created memories that he would never forget. He remembered her final goodbye each time he took their two boys out of their home.

"As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie. ‘I love you little family…'," he wrote.
