Keanu Reeves showed his respect for the stunt crew of "John Wick: Chapter 4" by gifting them t-shirts displaying the number of times they “died” while filming the blockbuster action movie. According to a new report from The New York Times, some of the stuntmen endured more than 20 deaths during the making of the film’s unforgettable action scenes. The gesture was Reeves' way of honoring the hardworking stunt team.

For the famous staircase fight in "John Wick: Chapter 4", where John Wick battles his enemies while running up the 222 steps heading towards Sacré-Coeur Basilica, the stunt team made use of 35 people for the sequence. Several of them were featured multiple times, having to "die" more than once to make the scene convincing.

When asked about the staircase scene, Jeremy Marinas, the fight coordinator for the movie, expressed astonishment to the Los Angeles Times. Director Chad Stahelski had expressed his desire to have 100 guys stumbling down a staircase, with each of their falls being unique. This was replied to with the phrase, "Of course you do," by Marinas.

He further commented on how difficult it was to execute the scene, saying it was challenging enough to even walk up a staircase. However, he was surprised at how well Keanu Reeves was able to perform while simultaneously shooting at the aforementioned assailants. It is almost unheard of to master shooting and walking upwards on flat ground, let alone doing it on a staircase.

Filming for the infamous staircase fight scene in "John Wick" took seven night shoots. Each stuntman was likely "killed" multiple times over the course of production, and at the end of filming, Keanu Reeves made special T-shirts for the stunt performers featuring how many times they had been slain throughout the movie.

Reeves performed all the stunts involving John Wick's staircase ascendance himself, leaving the 44-second fall down the stairs to his stunt double, Vincent Bouillon.
Keanu Reeves showed his appreciation to the stunt team on "John Wick: Chapter 4" in a special way. The actor gifted custom-made T-shirts featuring a photograph of him looking up the staircase on set. Director Chad Stahelski revealed that the pose was 50 percent John Wick and 50 percent Reeves, admitting that he had to suffer to get the shot.

Reeves didn't stop there - he also gifted his four-man stunt team with personalized Rolex Submariner watches to mark the end of production. Bruce Concepcion, Jeremy Marinas, Dave Camarillo, and Li Qiang made up the stunt team.
Reeves' gesture was a wonderful way to show his appreciation for the stunt team's hard work and dedication to the action tentpole.

Marinas recently shared a look at the incredible wrap gifts he and the other cast members of John Wick 4 received from Keanu Reeves. Each watch was engraved with a personal message from the actor, with Marinas' watch reading "The John Wick Five" and a special message from Keanu himself. He described it as the "best wrap gift ever" on his Instagram Stories.
