Pink Describes Feeling ‘Protective’ of Britney Spears After Meeting Her Parents

23 February 2023, Thursday
In a recent chat with People Editor Jeff Nelson, P!nk (real name Alecia Moore) revealed that she felt a strong sense of protection for Britney Spears, especially after meeting her parents. This sentiment comes as the singer promotes her recent album, "Trustfall".

P!nk went on to recall collaborating with Spears, Beyoncé, and Enrique Iglesias for the Super Bowl Pepsi commercial in 2004.

P!nk has spoken out about her hit single from her 2001 album Missundaztood, which contains the lyric, "Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears/She's so pretty/That just ain't me. She explains, I've always felt like a big sister to her, even though people think that line was picking on Britney Spears. Actually, I've been very supportive in Britney's life.

P!nk's face beamed with pride as she recounted her story in the interview. She was always carrying around one of my CDs, she said. I'm very protective of her and she's the sweetest person in the world. That solidified my role as a big sister to her when I met her team and her parents.

The singer's eyes widened as she spoke, but she didn't offer any more details. I just love that girl, she concluded.

Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears placed her under a legal conservatorship for thirteen years beginning in 2008. However, a judge terminated the conservatorship in November 2021.

In a June 2021 court transcript, Spears revealed her feelings towards the arrangement. "I've been lying to the world, saying that I'm alright and that I'm happy. That's a lie. I've been in denial, in shock...I'm traumatized," she admitted. The transcript was published by Matthew Loh from Insider.

Britney Spears appeared in court and testified that she wanted her life back, and that her father had been controlling elements of it such as her health and spending habits. In a related release, P!nk's album "Trustfall" is now available for purchase.
